Aldi shopper shares brilliant tip to keep up with lightning-fast checkout staff

An Aldi shopper has shared her husband’s ‘genius’ method of coping with the speedy checkout staff at the supermarket.

The store has claimed that customers will spend 40 per cent less time waiting to pay than those who visit its rivals thanks to cashiers ringing through your shop at lightning speed.

Aldi even designs its food packaging with multiple barcodes to ensure there’s no time wasted when it comes to scanning.

Daunted shoppers have previously shared hilarious tips to slow down the checkout staff – including scrunching up packaging so it doesn’t scan first time – but a man has now demonstrated how to beat them at their own game.

Rather than attempting to pack the shop into bags and being overwhelmed by the speed of items flying at you, he recommended placing an empty trolley at the end of the till.

As the items come through, he simply flicks them all into the waiting trolley to be sorted into bags away from the pressure of the queue waiting behind.

The video was shared on Facebook by his wife in the Aldi Mums group, along with the caption: “This is how you do it, ladies.”

Other members loved the idea as one replied to say: “We’ve been packing it wrong all this time,” as reported by Daily Mail.

A second wrote: “My hubby does this while I stand poised with card at the ready. No holdups from us boomers.”

But one shopper has previously revealed she simply asks the cashiers to go slow when she gets to the till so she can keep up.

If you don’t ask, you don’t get, as she said: “They don’t mind. And never had a rude checkout operator either.”
